Toronto is the most multicultural and largest city in Canada. There is so much to do on land and water, as it sits on the edge of amazing Lake Ontario. There is so much to do in Toronto but these are some my top things to do in Toronto, Ontario whether you are visiting or live here full time. Here are some great things to do in Toronto!
Get Lunch in the CN Tower 360 Restaurant
Instead of paying to go up the CN tower like every other tourist, opt to have lunch in the CN towers 360 restaurants. You will skip the long lines (they have a special elevator) and get lunch for about $10 if you take into consideration what it would cost for an admission ticket. Lunch is 2 or 3 courses and you get to sit in the rotating restaurant enjoying the breathtaking views. After lunch, head down 1 floor to get full access to everything a general admission ticket gets you, including a walk on the glass floor.
Take the Ferry to the Toronto Islands
Ride the Ferry to any of Toronto’s islands, it is a wonderful way to spend a summers day. There is so much to do, rent a bike, play frisbee golf, check out the beaches, visit Centreville and Far Enough Farm. If you have kids or just like animals be sure to check out Far Enough Farms. You might even stumble upon a festival or concert while you explore the islands. Be sure to bring some snacks and have a picnic! The ferry leaves pretty much every 30 minutes on the weekends and every hour during the week. I would recommend you leave in the morning as wait times from 11 am-2 pm can be well over an hour.
Check out a Baseball Game at the Rogers Center
If you like baseball or are just interested in checking out the Rogers Center (previously call the Skydome) try to get to a Blue Jays game. You can buy tickets for as low as $15 in the 500 levels. It is a great thing to do in the summer when they have the roof open. You can sit in the sun, grab a cold overpriced drink, enjoy the sunshine, and of course the baseball game.
Chinatown and Kensington market
The Chinatown and Kensington market area is located downtown Toronto on Spadina Ave (and around) between Queen St W & Dundas St W. This is a great area for a leisurely stroll around, to soak in some street art, check out the cool shops, enjoy some amazing food, or take a break at a coffee shop. There is almost always something exciting going on, you can check out the Calendar of events to see what is happening during your visit.
If you are in Toronto you should most definitely take some time to explore the St.Lawrence market and eat some of the great food. You will find butchers, bakers, artisans, vendors, and more all under one roof. This is a must do for any foodie visiting Toronto. You will find a little bit of everything related to food in this market even some amazing cooking classes. It will definitely not disappoint- just make sure to bring a big appetite. The St. Lawrence market also generally has some great events going on so be sure to check out their website.
